For some of us, our curiosity started with CB, or maybe those Walkie-Talkies you had fun with as kids.
For some of us, it was to remind of a loved one who we witness talking to someone a thousand miles away on their radio.
Or maybe it’s to have reliable communication when a disaster strikes.
Whatever your reason, we are here to help.
It’s easier than ever to get your Ham Radio License.
There are 3 License Classes:
Technician / General / Amateur Extra
We have experienced HAMS of all levels that will be more than happy to ELMER you. Check our calendar for classes.
Once you have your Technician License, your will have privileges on 70cm and 2m — also known as UHF and VHF. You can also work on 10m HF.
To gain more privileges you need to study up and get licensed up to the next level.
HF brings fun such as DXCC, POTA, SOTA, IOTA and more! The Amateur Extra license will unlock those DX frequencies!

YCARS holds VE Tests every other month on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 9:30 AM.

The exception is October, when we will be holding VE testing at the Rock Hill Hamfest.
