York County now has an ARES chapter up and running and is a member of the SC Amateur Radio Emergency Services network. If you are interested in participating, please contact John Gendron, KE4PLT or Steve Czaikowski, W3SPC.
The York County ARES Net will be held weekly on Monday evenings at 21:00 local. It is called on the KD4EOD repeater, 147.225 +, PL 110.9.
Everyone who can, please attend our October presentation meeting, which will be held at the clubhouse on Thursday, October 25, 2018.
The topic will be NTS. We will be discussing what the NTS is, a brief history, how NTS traffic is routed, and how to handle formal traffic.
All are encouraged to join us and participate, especially active members of the YCARS 2m net, which is an NTS listed net!
We are in need of a few additional Net Control Operators.
If you are interested in calling the YCARS 2m Evening Net, please let us know. Experience is a plus, but not required. All that is needed is a commitment of your time and a solid signal into the K4YTZ repeater. Net control training can be provided.
Please message K4BSC if you are interested.
Welcome to the new online home of YCARS! If there is content you would like to see on this site, please contact Steve, W3SPC, or Brent, K4BSC with your ideas and suggestions.
The October Business Meeting, which was scheduled to be held on October 11, has been rescheduled for October 18.
Sorry for the short notice and inconvenience. Due to Hurricane Michael, Darcy was called out of town and John had a work conflict which made it impossible for him to attend the meeting.
See everyone on October 18th at the clubhouse!
